Character Stats


In MapleStorySEA, there are various ways to enhance your character’s stats to build to greater heights. This guide will be a one stop guide to summarise all the features available to make your character stronger than ever.

Ability Points (AP)


What is Ability Points (AP)?

  • AP is an abbreviation of Ability Points, where points are gained every level up. It increases the stats of STR (Strength), DEX (Dexterity), INT (Intelligence), LUK (Luck), HP (Health Points), MP (Mana Points).
  • You can check out the stats window by pressing Primary Default Hotkey “A” / Secondary Default Hotkey “C”.
  • When increasing STR/DEX/INT/LUK, you gain 1 point per AP point.
  • For the case of HP/MP, the amount of stats per point varies from different classes.

  • 5 AP is given per level-up.

    Tip:
    When there’s AP to be invested, use the Auto-Distribution button! The stats invested using the auto-distribution system will give your character the most optimal stats for your class.

    How to reset on invested Ability Points (AP)?

  • AP Reset Scrolls can be obtained through certain in-game events.
  • Alternatively, it can also be obtained via purchase in Cash Shop.

    Skill Points (SP)


    What is Skill Points (SP)?

    SP is an abbreviation of Skill Points, where you can use them to upgrade skills. You can check the character’s skill UI by pressing Primary Default Key “S” / Secondary Default Hotkey “K”.

    Each skill has its own maximum level, and the skill level increases by 1 per SP.

    How to obtain Skill Points (SP)?

  • 3 SP is given per level-up.

  • However, starting at Level 101, the amount of SP you gain will be doubled at Levels with ending digits “0”, “3”, “6”, “9”. (E.g. Double SP @ Level 126, 119, 130, 133, etc..)
  • Additional SP will be given when leveling up from Level 110, 120, 130.

    How to invest Skill Points (SP)?

  • Choose a skill and press the “up” button.
  • “Skill Level Up” UI will appear, choose how much SP you wish to allocate on the particular skill.

    Tip:
  • When you reach Level 140, you’ll obtain all possible SP to max out all 1st - 4th Job Advancement skills.
  • From Level 140, you can learn new skills through the Hyper Skill system, which uses a separate point system, no SP is required.
  • From Level 200, you can learn new skills and enhance existing skills via the V Matrix system, no SP is required.

    Mastery Book and Boxes

  • You can use Mastery Books to improve the maximum level of 4th Job Advancement skills.
  • Knights of Cygnus classes (Soul Master, Flame Wizard, Wind Breaker, Night Walker, Striker) do not require Mastery Book / Mastery Boxes, as their skills will be given to maximum possible level.

    How to obtain Mastery Book / Mastery Boxes?

  • Mastery Books can be purchased through NPC shops, notably NPC Booklerman at Leafre.
  • Mastery Books can also be obtained via certain Event Shops.
  • Mastery Boxes can be obtained by clearing post in-game contents from Level 100.

    Hyper Skill


    Upon reaching Level 140, you'll unlock a skill system called Hyper Skill.
    It allows you to enhance existing skills with special effects, as well as learn new skills.

    What is Hyper Skill?

  • Hyper Skills are skill sets obtained from Level 140, where you enhance existing skills and learn additional Attack / Buff active skills.
  • Open the skill window (Primary Default Key “S”) to check out these new skills!

    Hyper Skill - Passive
  • Passive skills where you enhance existing skills in unique ways.
  • Each passive skill has its own level requirement to unlock them.
  • You’ll gain 1 Hyper Skill Passive SP upon achieving Level 140, 150, 165, 180, 190.

    Hyper Skill - Active
  • Learn unique Attack / Buff active skills from the Hyper Skill system!
  • Each active Hyper Skill is unlocked upon reaching Level 140, 160, 190.
  • Active Hyper Skills are not affected by cooldown reduction effects (e.g. from Runes), including potential and buff duration increase elements.

  • Simply click on the “Reset” button on the bottom left of the Hyper Skill UI.
  • Hyper Skill reset costs increase the more times you reset.
  • Cost is as follows on the table below.

    Hyper Stats


    What is Hyper Stat?

  • Hyper Stats are unlocked at Level 140, where you can boost your character’s stats to greater heights!
  • Open the stats window (Primary Default Key “A”) to check out these new stats available!

    Hyper Stat Type

    Each type of Hyper Stat and its maximum level are listed below.

    Hyper Stat Points

    Depending on your character’s level, you can gain higher Hyper Stat Points.

    Each time the Hyper Stat level increases, the amount of Hyper Stat Points required is increased.

    How to reset Hyper Stats?

  • Simply click on the “Reset” button on the bottom left of the Hyper Skill UI.
  • Hyper Skill reset costs 10,000,000 Mesos, regardless of number of times resetted.


    Inner Ability

  • Inner Ability is unlocked at Level 50, by accepting the quest “Awakening to Abilities”.
  • After completing the quest, these stats can be viewed via the Character Stats Window > Details.

    How to reset Inner Ability?

  • Ability can be reset via Honor EXP by pressing the reset button.
  • Reset Inner Ability costs 100 Honor EXP.
  • Stats that you don’t wish to change can be locked, but you’ll have to lock the ability grade first. You can only lock stats from “Epic Ability” and above.
  • Locking inner ability rank / stats for reset will cost higher Honor EXP.
  • Alternatively, you can use circulators to reset Inner Ability stats which can be obtained via Events or Cash Shop.

    Circulators

  • Circulators allow you to reset Inner Ability without the cost of Honor EXP.
  • Circulators have different effects depending on the type of Circulator used.
       ➢ Miracle Circulator: Allows you to reset your stats, and choose Before or After.
       ➢ Chaos Circulator: Changes the values of your stats, but does not reset the stats.
  • Circulators cannot fix rank or stats.
  • Miracle Circulators can be obtained through Events and the Cash Shop, while Chaos Circulator is obtained through seasonal events.
