Blood Moon Forest

Developer Notes

A new region, Jianghu, and the party cooperative roguelike dungeon Blood Moon Forest have been added.

Blood Moon Forest is weekly content developed with the goal of “an experience of adventuring and growing together.” It is designed so that party members actively utilize their roles in dynamic and changing situations.

Each stage combines random elements with choice‑based branching, allowing new strategies even during repeated challenges. We hope Maplers will enjoy approaching the dungeon in their own way and experiencing the unique fun of cooperative play.

As a story clear reward, Maplers can obtain the new equipment Jewel, and as a dungeon clear reward, enhancement materials exclusive to the Jewel.

The Jewel is similar to existing equipment but features a dedicated enhancement system that can only be progressed through Blood Moon Forest. In addition to a character’s main stats, it provides supplementary effects that assist with dungeon progression, helping to reduce the burden of repeated play.

Required Level: 250 and above

Party Requirement to enter: 3 Players.

Class Choice: Warrior(Toho Spear), Bowman(Toho Bow) or Mage(Toho Record).

Difficulty: Beginner, Experienced and Extreme.

Introduction Story Quest: [Blood Moon Forest] Totui's Letter in Lightbulb left screen.

To re-enter back map quest: Look for [Blood Moon Forest] related quest in Lightbulb left screen.

Ways to enter Gentle Breeze Village after completing the Story Quest:

Li-an Highlands is available now as Gentle Breeze Village and Blood Moon Forest are part of it.

Dungeon Gameplay

Beginner Mode:
↪ Total 11 Stages.
↪ Normal Stage: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
↪ Elite Stage: 5.
↪ Special Stage: 6.
↪ Boss Stage: 11.

Experienced Mode:
↪ Total 14 Stages.
↪ Normal Stage: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11 and 13.
↪ (After clearing Stage 8 and 11, you may choose to enter Normal Stage or Elite Stage when entering stage 9 and 12.)
↪ Elite Stage: 5, 9 and 12.
↪ Special Stage: 7.
↪ Boss Stage: 14.
↪ Trial 1: Special additional trail that changes the stage monster attributes, changes every Thursday at 0000hrs.

Extreme Mode:
↪ Total 18 Stages.
↪ Normal Stage: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17.
↪ Elite Stage: 5, 11 and 15.
↪ Special Stage: 9.
↪ Boss Stage: 18.
↪ Requires each player to achieve 800 Points to unlock this mode.

How to Start
1. Look for the Orange portal in the Blood Moon Forest Entrance map.

2. Select difficulty Beginner, Experienced or Extreme and click CHALLENGER button.

3. You will start queuing in the waiting list to match with other player with the same difficulty in the same World.

4. Once match is found, you will be moved to a map and select a class of Warrior(Toho Spear), Bowman(Toho Bow) or Mage(Toho Record).
↪ Go close to the selected Statue class and click with it with your mouse or using the NPC/Gather button.

5. Gather together near the portal and press UP to Start. You can only move on to the next stage when everyone has the ! icon above the character head.

Stage Type
All Stage

When stage is successfully cleared, an Ancient Scroll will drop from the last monster eliminated.

Pickup the Ancient Scroll will give an extra special skill, up to 3 skill, or enhancement of the current owned skills.

You may only select 1 of the 3 skill/enhancement shown.

A Health Potion to recover some HP or a Shield to reduce damage taken may drop also by chance.

Normal

Eliminate all monsters in the map in order to move on to the next stage.

Elite

Eliminate a strong elite monsters in the map in order to move on to the next stage.

When elite monster is successfully defeated, a Relic Selection Pot will drop.

Pickup the Relic Selection Pot will allow a selection 1 of the 3 relic shown.

Relic increase various stats during the round.

Special

There are 3 type of Special stage that changes every week.

Tank Battle: 3 Player Effort stage where players coordinate with each other to eliminate the monsters in the map.

Tank Battle: If you are Warrior(Toho Spear), you will be controlling the movement of the tank. Rush, Shield and Super Jump.

Tank Battle: If you are Mage(Toho Record) you will be controlling the cannon to shoot the monsters above. Main Cannon Fire, Electric Shock Harpoon and Board Energy Shock Wave.

Tank Battle: If you are Bowman(Toho Bow), you will be controlling to eliminate monster on ground. Missile Launch, Gatling Gun and Flare.

Tank Battle: Keybind can be change by using mouse to click once and press the desired button to bind.

Tank Battle: Some Skill from Warrior(Toho Spear) and Bowman(Toho Bow) require energy when other class perform attacks.

Tank Battle: Round fail when the Tank HP reaches 0.

Defense Fight: Defend the 3 mages from multiple wave of monsters.

Defense Fight: Round fail when everyone is eliminated or Barrier HP reaches 0.

Guard Mission: Escort a caravan while defeating monsters while feeding fruit to continue fuel the caravan to move forward.

Guard Mission: Round fail when everyone is eliminated or when the Giant Monster catches up with the caravan.

Boss

Final stage of every Difficulty.

Defeat Malicia herself.

Survive her attacks while trying to defeat her.

Malicia will become more aggressive after her health is below 50%.

Reward

After successfully defeating Malicia, a summary result of your effort will be displayed.

Special Note: Because Totui's Endorsement was applied, double rewards can be received. (Find out more HERE!)

Dungeon Rewards

Upon completing Blood Moon Forest dungeon, you will obtain 3 items.

The harder the difficulty cleared, the more rewards you obtained.

If you have already completed 1 round of Blood Moon Forest dungeon and received rewards, you can only obtain additional rewards if you beat your weekly score.

Broken Dragon Scale: Used to exchange for items from NPC Xuanliu Institute Scholar (Dungeon Coin Exchange).

Mysterious Gentle Breeze Bundle: To increase closeness with Gentle Breeze Villagers as well as Innis.

Essence of the Waning Moon: Used to increase Innis's Jewel Awakening Level. Get from Mysterious Gentle Breeze Bundle weekly, reset every Thursday at 0000hrs.

[Special]
Totui's Endorsement

Obtain by purchasing in Cash Shop after v247 Patch onwards.

Upon using this item, you will be able to obtain double reward upon clearing Blood Moon Forest dungeon and weekly mission EXP from NPC Bulletin Board.

Totui's Endorsement can only be used by a Level 250 and above character + completed Blood Moon Forest story quest.

Weekly Mission EXP from NPC Bulletin Board can only be obtain on one character.

Effects will only last for 28 days upon usage.

Effects will be applied to all qualified characters in the world.

You may check the duration by talking to NPC Bulletin Board.

[Innis's Jewel] Enhancement System

Innis's Jewel
Upon completing Story Mode, you will receive a new equipment Innis's Jewel.

Obtained from NPC Innis herself after completing Story Quest.

Access slot by clicking VALUABLE in the Equipment window.

Unlock Enhancement System
1. Successfully clear Blood Moon Forest once and obtain the

Mysterious Gentle Breeze Bundle.
2. Use the

Mysterious Gentle Breeze Bundle for the first time to obtain

Essence of the Waning Moon which open the [Blood Moon Forest] For You quest from NPC Innis.
3. Completing [Blood Moon Forest] For You quest will unlock the Enhancement System for Innis's Jewel.
4. Talk to NPC Innis again and select Enhance Jewel.

Jewel Polishing

Jewel Polishing requires an item Polishing Stone which can be purchase from NPC Xuanliu Institute Scholar (Dungeon Coin Exchange) using 10

Broken Dragon Scale.

Cost per action from level 1 to level 10: 1 Polishing Stone.

Depending on the Awakening Level, chance to obtain the the stats between +25, +50, +75 and +100 will be different.
↪Xenon class will obtain STR/DEX/LUK.
↪Demon Avenger class will obtain Max HP.

Once you Polish the jewel, the stats obtained will be permanent.

When you have successfully perform Jewel Polishing until level 10, you may choose to reset and remove all the Primary Stat and start over with a cost of 300,000,000 Mesos.

However, do note that if you failed during the Jewel Refining section, all Primary Stat and Additional Stat will be reset back to empty except for Awakening Level which will remain.

Jewel Awakening

Jewel Awakening requires an item

Essence of the Waning Moon which can be obtained ONCE A WEEK PER WORLD from

Mysterious Gentle Breeze Bundle.

Essence of the Waning Moon can be obtained again after Thursday at 0000hrs.

Cost per action for level 1 to level 9: 1 Essence of the Waning Moon.

Cost per action for level 9 to level 10: 2 Essence of the Waning Moon.

Tier 1 = Level 1 to 5.

Tier 2 = Level 6 to 10.

Once Jewel Awakening is done, the level obtained will be permanent and will not be affected by Jewel Refining.

Awakening Effect stats will also take effect when you enter Blood Moon Forest dungeon depending on the Awakening Level.

The higher the Awakening Level the higher the Awakening Effect stats.

The Awakening Effect stats will only apply if the Innis's Jewel is equipped before entering Blood Moon Forest dungeon.

Jewel Refining

Jewel Refining requires an item Refining Stone which can be purchase from NPC Xuanliu Institute Scholar (Dungeon Coin Exchange) using 100,000,000 Mesos.

Cost per action for level 1 to level 5: 1 Refining Stone.

Cost per action for level 6 to level 10: 2 Refining Stone.

Jewel Refining multiply your Primary Stat by the % from the same row. Eg: If the Primary Stat in the same row is +25 and the Additional Stat shows x300%, there will be additional +50.
↪Level 1 to level 5 multiply stat in the same row by 300%.
↪Level 6 to level 10 multiply stat in the same row by 400%.

Depending on the Awakening Level, the Success Rate, Downgrade Rate and Failure Rate will be different.
↪Success Rate: Successfully multiply stat in the same row.
↪Downgrade Rate: Goes back by 1 level. Eg: If you land on the Downgrade Rate at level 2, you will drop back to level 1.
↪Failure Rate: Resets all the Jewel Refining back to empty.

Jewel Refining can only be used when the Jewel Polishing in the same row is unlocked.

Bond of Fate System

Unlock Bond of Fate System
1. After completing the Story Quest, talk to NPC Totui and look for [Blood Moon Forest] Yin and Yang intro quest to unlock the Bond of Fate System.
2. Next, talk to NPC Toyo and look for [Blood Moon Forest] Toyo's Journal quest to obtain A journal that Toyo gave me. and a Xuanliu Institute Box.

A journal that Toyo gave me. is used to check the following:
↪[Bond of Fate] Bond of Fate items currently in possession.
↪[Bond of Fate] Bond of Fate items gifted to Gentle Breeze Villagers.
↪[Bond of Fate] See how Gentle Breeze Villagers think about you.
↪[Reputation System] See my reputation grade in Gentle Breeze Village.

Xuanliu Institute Box contains various items to improve your bond with various Gentle Breeze Villagers.
↪ You can obtain more by completing Blood Moon Forest dungeon that comes in Mysterious Gentle Breeze Bundle.

If you have lost the A journal that Toyo gave me., you may look for NPC Bulletin Board and accept [Blood Moon Forest] Take Your Lost Journal! quest to retrieve it back but with a cost of 100,000,000 Mesos.

NPCs

There are total of 8 NPCs related to the Bond of Fate System that can be interacted.

Toran, Toyo, Day, Tachyon, Woonhwi, Seonan, Goeul and Innis.

Based on your closeness and Affection Level with the NPC, your dialogue with the NPC will change as well as hidden story will be available via the quest lightbulb.

You may check your Affection Level with the NPC when you interact with the NPC and special icon will be shown at the top right of the dialogue box.

Affection Level up to Level 5.

You may also use the A journal that Toyo gave me. to check your closeness with the NPCs.

Bond of Fate Items

Obtain Bond of Fate Items randomly from the list by using

Mysterious Gentle Breeze Bundle.

The more Bond of Fate Items given to the NPC, the closer you will be with the NPC.

Each item has its own closeness EXP and depends on the NPC you give it to, the EXP amount is different.

Bond of Fate Items are not an actual item and it is kept immediately in the system.

You may use the A journal that Toyo gave me. to check your Bond of Fate Items inventory and who you gave it to.

Weekly Mission

Start Weekly Mission

After completing all story quest, look for the NPC Bulletin Board in the town to start.

Completing the Weekly Mission by clearing Blood Moon Forest dungeon to receive 1 Reputation Point as well as huge amount of EXP for your character.

Reputation Point is used to increase your reputation Grade with the factions to increase Reputation Effects.
↪Qinglin Sect: Increases Max HP upon entering Blood Moon Forest dungeon.
↪Xuanliu Institute: Increase HP Recovery every time a stage is cleared by %.
↪Soho Association: Increase Critical Chance by %.

The Bulletin Board NPC will automatically selects which faction to increase the reputation.

Grades

All Faction cost the same amount of Reputation points to increase the reputation Grade.
↪Grade 1 to Grade 2: 1 Reputation Point.
↪Grade 2 to Grade 3: 1 Reputation Point.
↪Grade 3 to Grade 4: 2 Reputation Points.
↪Grade 4 to Grade 5: 2 Reputation Points.

Qinglin Sect Reputation Effects:
↪Grade 2: Max HP +20 upon entering.
↪Grade 3: Max HP +40 upon entering.
↪Grade 4: Max HP +60 upon entering.
↪Grade 5: Max HP +80 upon entering.

Xuanliu Institute Reputation Effects:
↪Grade 2: Increase HP Recovery every time a stage is cleared by 10%.
↪Grade 3: Increase HP Recovery every time a stage is cleared by 15%.
↪Grade 4: Increase HP Recovery every time a stage is cleared by 20%.
↪Grade 5: Increase HP Recovery every time a stage is cleared by 25%.

Soho Association Reputation Effects:
↪Grade 2: Increase Critical Chance by 12%.
↪Grade 3: Increase Critical Chance by 14%.
↪Grade 4: Increase Critical Chance by 16%.
↪Grade 5: Increase Critical Chance by 18%.

Ranking System

Ranking Criteria

Ranking is calculated based on Points accumulated and time taken to clear the dungeon.

The higher your weekly score you achieved the higher the chances to be on the Ranking Board.

If there are identical scores wither other players, the ones that complete the fastest will be prioritized.

All records are reset every Thursday at 0000hrs.

Dungeon Entry is restricted every Wednesday from 11:00p.m. to Thursday at 12:30a.m. to calculate the score.

Reward Issuance Criteria

Rewards are granted only for the character highest record within the World.

Once the record has been reset at Thursday at 0000hrs and qualified for rewards, look for [Blood Moon Forest] Claim weekly ranking rewards quest from the Weekly Ranking Board NPC.

1st Place: 300 Broken Dragon Scale.

2nd Place: 200 Broken Dragon Scale.

3rd Place: 150 Broken Dragon Scale.

Top 10: 80 Broken Dragon Scale.

Top 20: 40 Broken Dragon Scale.

Top 10%: 20 Broken Dragon Scale.

Top 30%: 15 Broken Dragon Scale.

Top 50%: 10 Broken Dragon Scale.

Top 70%: 5 Broken Dragon Scale.

Developer Notes

With the appearance of Blood Moon Forest, Gentle Breeze Village is in need of Maplers’ help.

Each week, clearing the Blood Moon Forest dungeon with different roles will grant gifts from Gentle Breeze Village.

These gifts are available only during the event period, so be sure to challenge Blood Moon Forest while the event is active.

Event Participation Conditions:
Characters at Level 250 or above and completed all Blood Moon Forest related quest.

Complete Blood Moon Forest weekly to receive extra rewards.

Weekly Mission: Clear Blood Forest Dungeon once in any Difficulty.

Weekly Dungeon: Clear Blood Forest Dungeon TWICE in any Difficulty with different class Warrior(Toho Spear), Bowman(Toho Bow) or Mage(Toho Record). (Eg: If you have cleared the first round with Warrior(Toho Spear), your next cleared round has to be either Bowman(Toho Bow) or Mage(Toho Record) to complete the Weekly Dungeon.)

Each Mission can only be cleared during the week duration.

If you have missed a Weekly Mission or Weekly Dungeon during the week, you may use 4,000 Maple Points to make up for each mission.

Complete all 10 missions to get extra Final Rewards.
