[Update] Root Abyss Patch Notes
Dear Maplers,
A dark abyss deep within Maple World has been discovered!
During the attack on Ereve, Damien, Demon’s brother who was thought to have been slain by the Black Mage, made his appearance and killed Shinsoo in an attempt to cripple the Cygnus Knights. As Empress Cygnus and her loyal Knights mourn the loss of their Divine Bird, Damien took this opportunity to flee to the Maple World.
But of course, the Maple Forces were quickly alerted and then dispatched to seek out Damien.
However…
While tracking Damien down, the Maple Forces stumbled upon a never seen before region in the depths of Sleepywood. A hidden ruin lies beneath the Maple World, untouched by time.
Immediately, scouts were sent to explore the area and report on their findings, but many did not made it back. Those who did however, seemed to be dreaded in fear, repeatedly mentioning things such as: “Mysterious Girl” and “Root Abyss”. It was then agreed upon by the Maple Forces leaders that this new region will be named Root Abyss, a name befitting the nature of its environment.
Maplers, your help is once again required…
Root Abyss
Enter at your own risk!
A new dungeon has been added into Maple World: Root Abyss
Nineheart of Ereve will beckon for you via a quest from your Lightbulb notification icon. (You need to be at least level 100)
After a series of introductory quests, the
Root Abyss icon will appear on the left side of your screen in the notification column. You will now be able to access Root Abyss instantly upon selecting the option “Move to Rootabyss”.
Rescue the ‘Mysterious Girl’ from the dangers of the depths of Root Abyss!
You will come to learn about the story behind the ‘Mysterious Girl’, as well as discover the evil that lies deep within. Help stop this evil from spreading out into the Maple World!
Upon completion of the Root Abyss storyline quests, you will be rewarded with the World Tree Guardian medal.
Stop the Root Abyss Seal Guardians!
Each day, maplers will be able to head to Root Abyss to take down the Seal Guardians. Before you enter, you will need to do the following:
Take note that there is an unlimited entry count. However once you have killed a Seal Guardian you will no longer be able to enter the map again, until the count resets at midnight.
Aside from the Yggdrasil Rune Stone, the guardians also have a chance to drop their unique hats:
The Chaos versions of the guardians, drops a different coloured Chaos Yggdrasil Rune Stone as well as the Chaos version of their hats (similar to that of Zakum/Chaos Zakum)
Besides that, upon defeat of the Chaos Seal Guardians, they have a chance to drop equipment from new set items as well!
Rune Stones and Sealed Boxes
Collect these stones to exchange them for sealed boxes! *
These sealed boxes when opened may grant you a chance to get equipment with never seen before unique options!
Hyper Scrolling
Enchants every scroll usage to be 100% pass upon use. Usable with Legendary Skill.
Does NOT work with equipment enhancing scrolls.
Hyper Durability
Enchants protection on equipment to prevent it from being destroyed from scroll failures. Usable with Legendary Skill.
Does NOT work with equipment enhancing scrolls.
Hyper Upgrading
Only works for normal potential cubing, does NOT affect additional potential cubing.
Tier upgrading conditions will apply as per normal (e.g Miracle Cube/Premium Miracle Cube will only upgrade up till Unique tier)

Dear Maplers, The Sealed/Chaos Sealed boxes will be temporarily unavailable until further notice. Meanwhile, you will still able to collect and stock up on the Rune Stones / Chaos Rune Stones. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
