Those who are caught in violation of game play rules must be summarily punished to protect the general interests of other players. The following rules will be implemented starting 23rd June 2005 (Thursday).

Definition:

GM Impersonation
Any attempt to pass off or falsely represent any of the Administrative staff (e.g. GameMasters) towards other players.

Account Scam
Any attempt to induce another player in revealing his/her user id and/or password through any means.

Item Scamming
Any attempt to gain possessions or valuables (Fame, Meso, Items, Prepaid Card, etc) from another player through trickery and deceit.

Any attempt to trade with another player with promise of benefit for him/her but failing to fulfill his/her own part of the agreement.

Penalty for scamming include:

Accounts banned from playing will vary in duration in accordance with the type of offence:

  • Scamming = 30 days

In addition to the basic ban period, all offenders will be awarded:

a) Mandatory Inventory Reset
 
  Removal of all characters' items and mesos within the same MapleStory game account.

* All GM decisions are final in the game.
* Appeals will not be entertained.
* Items once removed, will not be reinstated under any circumstances.

If user finds that the penalties are too heavy, then do not scam.
Fair play is important in the gaming community.

All banned accounts (for hacking, scamming, drop game, advertising hack, selling cash items, selling accounts etc.) will result in their respective Passport being suspended for security reasons. Players will not be able to login into their Passport and are required to perform an identity verification. If this is not done within 90 days, the Passport together with all game accounts will be deleted. No refunds will be made for any A-Cash or items left within.
